Welcome to the Heaton, Lostock & Chew Moor Labour Party
We are a members’ branch of Bolton West Constituency Labour Party
Labour is the largest group on Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council of which the current composition is:
Since May 2023 we have had de-facto control of the Council under the leadership of Councillor Nick Peel.
Labour 28
Conservatives 15
Lib-Dems 7
Horwich & Blackrod First 6
Farnworth & Kearsley First 3
Independent 1
The current Bolton West MP is the Conservative Chris Green who was first elected in 2015. We are already working hard in the run up to the general election, due to take place next year, to ensure that Labour’s Phil Brickell ousts him and becomes our representative in Westminster.
Members of Heaton, Lostock & Chew Moor Labour believe in:
Protecting Green Open Spaces – there is a housing crisis in this country but we mustn’t sacrifice our green open spaces, especially land designated as Green Belt.
Opposition to Fracking – we are 100% opposed to fracking and wholeheartedly support the anti-fracking campaign.
Save Our Planet – climate change and its results represent the greatest threat to our planet and combatting climate change must be government’s highest priority. A Labour government will focus on decarbonising our energy and invest heavily in green industries, providing 10s of thousands skilled, well paid jobs.
Investing in the NHS and Education – we want a healthy, well educated future for our children. 100s of thousands of people currently cannot work due to ill health whilst waiting for treatment by our underfunded NHS. Good health for all must be a priority
Supporting the Most Vulnerable – our priority, above all else, is to help and protect the most vulnerable in society, especially children, the elderly, the homeless and disabled. We stand for the many, not the few and demand a future fair for all.
